Karl scoffed at the idea, dismissing it as absurd fantasy - a cheap thrill with no basis in reality. He and his teammate Derrick were having a drink together, commiserating about the ridiculous video they'd watched earlier that day. A girlfriend cheating within just five days was laughable, Karl thought, so outlandish that he was willing to put his money on it. But what he wasn't prepared for was actually backing up his claim: "Let's see if we can make it happen with your girlfriend then".
