As Prince Caelan reaches his 20th year, Queen Alinora invokes the ancient Empress Clause: Caelan will not pass the crown through marriage but wear it himself. To do so, he must become not only queen in title, but woman in body, mind, and spirit. In Veil of the Heir, players shape Caelan's path through mental, magical, and political transformation. Will you embrace destiny or defy tradition? The story follows Prince Caelan's enforced or chosen transition into Queen Caelene, determined by the player's choices.
